Experience

Mr. Rippetoe has over 10 years of professional work experience in disaster management, with a focus on hazard mitigation and floodplain management. As the Hazard Mitigation Program Manager for SDMI, he oversees the coordination, development and production of various plans related to hazard mitigation for multiple jurisdictions throughout the State of Louisiana. To date, Mr. Rippetoe has overseen the successful submission and approval of 80+ multijurisdictional hazard mitigation plans, including those with tribal entities as well as those seeking credit within the Community Rating System (CRS) program. Mr. Rippetoe also currently serves as the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Program Manager, where he manages a fleet of multi-rotor and fixed wing drones used for the purpose of 2D imagery collection, 3D modeling, post-disaster damage assessments and other event-related objectives. Prior to his current roles, Mr. Rippetoe served as a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst for SDMI. During this time, he assisted in the creation and data collection of a 143,000-point critical infrastructure database for the State of Louisiana, as well as a public facing portal allowing access to GIS datasets by approved users. He also aided in the development and data collection and verification for a 9-1-1 address and street centerline database for multiple parishes in Louisiana.
